Nina Eberly, PhD, LCSW
Founder - Onward Healing
So glad that you’re here!
I provide evidence-based telehealth therapy to adults (18+) navigating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, phobias, body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), and tic disorders.
My work is grounded in the belief that healing is not about eliminating discomfort, but about learning how to live fully and meaningfully alongside it — with skill, self-compassion, and support.
My Approach
I specialize in treatments that are research-supported, practical, and compassionate, including:
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills
Behavioral Activation (BA)
Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT)
Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) for BFRBs
I work collaboratively with clients to create individualized treatment plans that align with their goals and values. Therapy is structured yet flexible, with an emphasis on mindfulness, self-compassion, and building confidence in your ability to navigate uncertainty and discomfort.
Education & Professional Background
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Master of Social Work from Millersville University in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and later completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology with a concentration in Social Psychology.
My doctoral research focused on individuals with comorbid post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder, examining how traumatic experiences influence obsessive-compulsive symptom presentation. This work informs my trauma-informed and nuanced approach to treating OCD and anxiety-related conditions.
Prior to founding Onward Healing, I worked in a specialty OCD program at Rogers Behavioral Health, providing care at the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels. In this role, I treated OCD, obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, BFRBs, and anxiety disorders within a highly structured, evidence-based setting.
I have completed specific training in CBIT for tic disorders and comprehensive treatment for BFRBs using Habit Reversal Therapy.
I was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, an area known for its rural landscapes and Amish heritage. After college, I moved to Philadelphia to begin my clinical career and start my family. Outside of therapy, I enjoy hiking, listening to podcasts, and spending meaningful time with family and friends.
A Supportive Place to Begin
Reaching out for therapy — especially for OCD, anxiety, BDD, or tic-related concerns — can feel overwhelming. At Onward Healing, my goal is to offer a space that feels safe, supportive, and empowering, where you can build skills that support lasting change and a fuller life.
